New Developments Once again development plans are on the table for Puerto Morelos. The plan calls for allowing increased population density and building on areas that are prone to flooding. The increase in population density was approved in a meeting in Cancun last week. Here is an article on the meeting by Miami Herald Cancun editor Kathy Loretta. Local residents have a lot of problems with the plan and are organizing legal action to halt any plans until proper studies are done. They have formed a group to offer scientific information and alternatives. This group has had success in the past. The group would like to hear your opinion too. They have drafted this letter. It has a questionnaire attached to it that you can send to various political leaders including the President of Mexico and the Governor of the state. Letters should be polite and respectful.
